I had grown this anthurium for a couple years and had a nice medium sized plant and thought I was doing a decent job growing it. I was wrong…Then a few years ago, I visited the Hilo Botanical Garden and they had this thing in all its glory. (See mature plant photo) I still can’t sleep at night.
A. cupulispathum gets huge, and has a rather thin textured leaf. This is a real collector’s plant. Very hard to find. The plants available are growing in 5″ pots with leaves about 8″ long and about 12″ tall as shown in the last image.
